Fridays between 09:00 – 10:00 we have extra exercise activities to develop the children’s muscles, balance and gross motor skills.

Every second Friday, all the children from 2 Years – 6 Years, make music using plastic bottles, tin and homemade instruments. Every other Friday all the children do special art work, play board games, or something in the kitchen for example bake cake.

Every Friday at 11:00 there is a puppet show for all the children. The puppet shows are about the week’s theme for example, “Me and My Body”, the show will be about the different parts of the body.

The themes that are being taught are more or less the same themes that are being taught to children from Grade 1 to Grade 3.

A school readiness test is done before the end of February with the Grade R children to determine what level they are for school readiness. This is included in the school fees.

Included in the school fees are music classes for children aged 4 Years to 6 Years.

Aftercare

Children from Grade 1 to Grade 4 are collected from their schools and brought to The Nest. Lunch is provided for the aftercare children.

There is a teacher who does homework with the children individually.

After the children have finished their homework, they are well supervised by the teachers.

Parents can come and collect their children after work from The Nest.
